We suffered downtime as a result of a DDoS (Distributed Denial of Service) attack. September 2nd also happened to be Labor Day holiday here in the United States, which meant that most businesses were closed/ unavailable for the day. This unfortunately included our webhost.
Our host has now installed packet monitoring and filtering hardware to make sure the effects are not as severe if such an attack were to occur again (hopefully never though).
